Students & Employers: Check Out Onward!
Created while on sabbatical by Digital Media Arts Professional Web Design & Development Faculty, Jason Withrow, Onward helps employers directly connect with Washtenaw Community College students for jobs, internships, and freelance projects. Students must acquire faculty endorsements for all their required job skills before they can see employer contact information, to ensure the integrity of qualified applicants. Register as Employer or Student now!

Additionally, Professional Advisory Committees in each Digital Media Arts discipline assist in maintaining each program’s relevance in curriculum design, program-level outcomes, and keeping pace with current trends in technology to ensure that our graduates have the marketable skills to find success in the job market.

One Department | Five Disciplines

Unleash your creativity and professional development by taking classes in the Digital Media Arts Department at WCC! We are recognized for curriculum that prepares students for life long careers in dynamic visual arts technology industries, with certificate & degree programs in 3D Animation, Digital Video, Graphic Design, Photography and Web Design & Development.

Our state-of-the-art facilities feature numerous computer labs with the latest and greatest software available. In class, students have access to a wide range of advanced output technologies including a 3D printer, color printers & flat bed scanners. A Production & Output Center supports wide-format color printers, color laser printers and peripherals for students to matte graphic design and photography. All of this robust technology is supported by a full-time IT/Mac Technician to oversee day-to-day operations and long-term maintenance, in addition to the management of a local area network that is a huge part of our students’ success.

The cavernous green screen studio and handsomely outfitted digital video equipment cage gives students the edge to produce award winning motion picture projects. A professional photography studio supports the production of everything from small product to food to portraiture. Video & Photo students check equipment out free of charge to complete assignments that includes a wide range of DSLR, medium, and large format cameras. And YES, black-and-white film processing is alive and well, which is supported by a beautiful traditional darkroom for beginning, intermediate, and advanced level black-and-white, gelatin silver print production. We are one of Washtenaw County’s best kept secrets in great education!
