Bryant, R. (2015, February). College Preparation for African American Students: Gaps in the High School Educational Experience. In Center for Law and Social Policy, Inc. Retrieved from ERIC.
This paper stresses three educational issues related to college readiness (the combination of core academic knowledge, skills, and habits that ensure postsecondary success without remedial training) namely access to college preparatory courses, experienced school teachers, and adequate counseling.
It also highlights the tremendous differences in access to these services between high minority and low minority schools.
