Research study investigating knowledge of, opinions about, and usage of OER among teaching faculty in U.S. higher education from 2015-16. Survey results from over 3,000 faculty indicate OER awareness is on the rise; however, OER usage remains low due to the effort required to find and evaluate materials. The study also examines other factors of faculty OER awareness, the decision process for selecting OER, potential barriers, issues of discoverability and the likelihood of future use.
